Tasting Note
Nose:
Oaty gingerbread and fresh hays sweetened with honey and vanilla. A big kick of peaches and other stone fruits, reinforced by pears, soured lemons and orange peels. A surprisingly fruity whisky. Light, and understated, but ever-present earthy smoke and notes of coastal seaweeds. A final nutty aroma, particularly walnuts provides further intrigues.
Taste:
Oily coating mouthfeel. Peaches and stone fruits again, with backup in the form of sharp apple turnovers and sugared French crepes. Peat smoke is more present now, enveloping the entire experience, but never overwhelming it. Fired earths and soils, subtle and yet elemental.
Finish:
Long with a freshening pinch of salt in the tail.
